Not sure about the lore, since i didnt play long, but there is story. grounded: youre a shrunk person surviving in the backyard of a house. Workshop is filled with bases and ships you can download and build in-game as a blueprint and placed when it's done. Has an arachnophobia mode as well lolĮmpyrion - can be a simple or complex as you want it to be. Haven't played it for a few months but definitely enjoyed it when I played. Grounded - Honey I shrunk the kids in a survival game. Summer brings the factor of heat and winter brings freezing to death along with crops not growing outside. Has a weather system that changes throughout the game. The infected - still kinda basic survival game but has a lot going for it. Good variety of weapons that all have different tiers. Voxel based so has terra forming and all that comes with it. They also released their 2022 roadmap recently.ħ days to die - prolly one of the best zombie survival crafting games out there imo. Has a good story mode, straight up survival mode, and also a handful of challenge 'missions' to play. Green Hell - more 'hardcore' survival in a sense. I highly suggest playing it, even if it's in early access as it's now in Alpha 20.0 (19 huge releases, initially released in 2013) The game has been in early access for forever but the devs are committed to making the game how they want it to be before releasing it. I probably wrote way too much haha, it's a super fun game and it's one I go back to frequently. Plus each POI has a set difficulty from T1 (easiest) to T6 (hardest), the harder you get the more zombies (and surprise traps), the bigger the building, and the better loot (plus there's more of it). Most of them are mini dungeons that have a clear path to run through and the amount of unique POIs is just insane. Every 7 days, you get a huge amount of zombies that spawn around your base and this gets harder and harder as the days pass and as your gamestate gets higher (your leveling and gear average I think).Īnother thing I appreciate are the POI's, they aren't just houses you break into. You can upgrade blocks from wood, to stone, to cement, and finally to steel (maybe iron first, unsure) and they have higher and higher hit points. Certain block types only support a certain amount of "weight", you can only hold a certain amount of blocks horizontally with a single vertical pillar, and you can't build in the air. The cool thing about 7DtD building is that there are specific building rules with structural integrity that you can't see in real time. Ofc if you're playing alone, you can make your own playthrough on a local save which can be run peer-to-peer (but significantly effects performance if you don't have a great computer) if you want to play with friends.Ĭorrect, the game is about scavenging supplies from POI's (places of interest), doing quests from traders that send you to specific POI's to do things, all the while building a base that survives zombies (or two, most people do a "horde night base" set with traps and then their base of operations so their loot doesn't get destroyed if their base crumbles). Once you get comfortable with server rules, you can filter your search by various rules to find a server more tailored to your preferences. I believe the rule is something like "Player killing" set to All, Only Strangers (people you don't add as friends in game), or None. It can be whichever, it depends on the rules the server admins choose (which are all viewable when you browse servers).
